Salary Range: Up to $85,000/Annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Essential Functions
Job Summary
Responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining a positive workplace that fosters employee engagement, satisfaction, and productivity. This position shapes and reinforces the university's values and enhances the overall employee experience through the proactive integration of pulse surveys, focus groups, climate surveys, and workplace assessments to gauge the employee experience. Additionally, this position formulates strategic partnerships across People Excellence, and with key university stakeholders to deliver value-added services to leaders and employees that reflect the values, mission, and goals of the university.
Core Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains a deep understanding of the university's values, mission, and goals.
  • Collaborates with leadership to define and communicate the desired workplace experience for university employees.
  • Executes the implementation of initiatives that align with the university's core values and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Leads the process, as well as coordination with vendors, for regular university-wide climate surveys to measure employee engagement, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Designs and executes proactive pulse surveys, focus group sessions, and other proactive means to collect feedback and boost employee engagement, motivation, and satisfaction.
  • Conducts routine workplace assessments campus-wide to measure employee engagement, collects feedback, and identifies areas for enhancement.
  • Leverages climate surveys, proactive pulse surveys, focus groups, and feedback from workplace assessments to drive continuous enhancements of the employee experience, collaborating with HR Business Partners and department/unit leadership.
  • Assists in the development of strategies to address and resolve employee concerns and challenges based on assessment and survey trends.
  • Assists in the development of communications and updates regarding climate initiatives and outcomes for dissemination to various groups within the university community.
  • Facilitates open and effective communication channels between employees and leadership.
  • Partners with HR Business Partners and Employee Success to identify and organize team-building activities, events, and workshops to foster collaboration and camaraderie.
  • Acts as a liaison between different departments to promote cross-functional collaboration.
  • Assists in the development of strategies to retain top talent and enhance overall employee satisfaction.
  • Develops and maintains an in-depth knowledge of operations across the university to proactively identify opportunities and solutions to emerging issues.
  • Collaborates closely with HR Business Partners to develop guidance and recommendations for improving workplace relationships campus-wide, building morale, and increasing productivity and retention.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with HR Business Partners to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Four (4) years of related experience to include work with workplace experience and engagement initiatives.
  • Experience with designing and implementing employee climate surveys.
  • Effective judgment, tact, diplomacy, and discretion are required in all matters.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and interpret employee feedback and engagement data.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative and effective programs.
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in workplace experience and employee engagement.
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Working Conditions
Working Environment:
  • Office environment.
  • Personal computer and standard office equipment.
  • Occasional after-hours and weekend work or overtime may be required.
  • Hybrid: On-campus & remote, with availability to travel to all UTSA campuses when necessary.
Physical Demands:
  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
This position will require working both remotely in Texas and on campus (approximately five or more days on campus per month). Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
