Salary
Salary Range: $31,200- $32,100 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
Hours per Week
Non-Exempt Position: 40 hours per week. Typical working hours will be: Monday-Wednesday 3 p.m. - 12 a.m.; Saturday and Sunday 12 p.m. - 9 p.m.
May be required to work weekends and holidays. Will be required to have flexible work schedule, to include but not limited to, working evenings, weekends, and holidays. Overtime may be required.

Essential Functions
Job Summary
Function: To provide routine manual work involving cleaning and housekeeping duties in buildings. Maintains an orderly, clean and aesthetically pleasing environment within our campus building for our students, faculty, staff, and customers.
Scope: Responsible for janitorial and housekeeping duties including occasional heavy physical labor.
Duties
Typical:

• Performs custodial maintenance in the Recreation Wellness Center, Recreational Field Complex, facilities to include cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, waxing, polishing, and scrubbing tile work, floors, stairways, hallways, restrooms, offices, laboratories, locker rooms, and building lobbies.
• Cleans and maintains restrooms & locker rooms; washes windows; cleans, dusts, polishes, and moves furniture; polishes nickel and brass work
• Removes and empties paper recycling bins, waste baskets, and trash boxes; washes and polishes drinking fountains; and replaces burned out light bulbs. Respond to emergency situations including leaks and spills.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of the sixth grade minimum.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED.
• Ability to read English.
• Knowledge of janitorial equipment and its care and maintenance requirements.
• Experience working in a recreational facility.
• One year in general custodial or janitorial work.
• Have a valid Texas Driver's License and receive a driving rating of "good" as established by the UT System.

Working Conditions
Usual office/building janitorial cleaning conditions.
This position will be primarily located:
On Campus: Primary work location will be on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
