UT Parking and Transportation Services is responsible for the management of over 17,000 parking spaces on campus, including 12 parking garages and more than 50 surface parking lots.

Our operations include the distribution and regulation of daily, permitted, and event parking, as well as the maintenance of parking lots and garages.

We also provide assistance to those parked on or traveling through campus. This assistance includes jump-starts and opening vehicles for those locked out.

Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.

Position is year-round. Must also be available to work during the summer months. Working schedule based on needs of business and varies weekly.

Flexibility required. Evenings, weekends, holidays required. Must work minimum 24 hrs / week up to 29 hrs / week. Other related functions as assigned.

Must work each home football game.

Responsibilities

Sets up, takes down, maintains and inventories all equipment needed for all parking arrangements. Prepares reports regarding operation and status of area or responsibility.

Develops and conducts on-going training sessions for parking personnel. Adheres to departmental protocol for dealing with emergency situations.

Drives UT vehicle. Must work each home football game, including holidays. Must have cell phone capable of sending and receiving email.

  • Arranges for necessary signage, barricades, maps or passes needed for any parking purposes. Supervises cash accountability operations and provides reports to management.
  • Counsels support staff on parking issues and customer service skills. Evaluates staff in the operation of parking facilities.

Determines personnel, equipment, materials and supplies needed. Assists in resolving issues or complaints from faculty, staff, students and the public.

Assists in the coordination of parking arrangements for major public events, performances, graduations, meetings and conferences.

Implements parking operations policies and regulations. Assists in developing office procedures. Schedules routine vehicle maintenance and other repairs as needed.

Assists the supervision of parking operations in order to keep parking areas accessible to authorized permit holders and special patrons.

Provides information regarding parking rules and regulations and availability of parking in different areas of campus to faculty, staff, students and the public.

Provides directional information as requested. Reports traffic and parking conditions and incidents. Prepares correspondence.

Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school graduation or GED. A combination of three years' experience in leadership roles, working with money, keeping records, and working in a fast-paced environment.

One year of supervisory experience. Must have well demonstrated computer skills; professional demeanor; flexibility; show attention to detail;

have reliable transportation; display punctual, dependable attendance; show proven customer service skills; show proven supervisory skills.

Must have a valid Texas Drivers License.

Preferred Qualifications

More than three years of combined relative accounting experience. More than one year university operations experience. Related experience in the operation of a university parking or other high volume parking system.

Experience working in multiple garage environment. Demonstrated effective inter-personal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Driver Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence.

If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.

Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Salary Range

$18.00 / hour
