Postdoctoral Research Associate

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate position in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville to begin in Spring or Summer 2024. The successful applicant will work with Professor Alan Tennant on novel quantum magnetic phases, out-of-equilibrium phenomena, and application of machine learning. Candidates who have experience in neutron scattering, materials characterization and synthesis, and quantum magnetism are preferred.

Applicants should have a PhD in physics or a closely related field and have a graduation date no later than April 2024.

The University of Tennessee is a thriving research university. Its proximity to Oak Ridge National Laboratory provides an excellent setting for the education and training of the next generation of scientists, and greatly facilitates research collaborations with the national lab.
