The Instructor will be responsible for developing a series of lectures to educate residents on the business side of medical practice. Topics to be covered include: principles of coding, billings and collections, legal environments and malpractice, hospital or other employment agreements & PSA’s, basic accounting and financial performance, human resources, marketing, compliance, credentialing and licensing. Additionally, this individual will mentor and tutor residents completing their MBA as well as mentor residents (and students when applicable) in their CQI projects, which is a requirement of the residency program.
This position will supervise UT COM residents.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates are required to hold a terminal degree.
DEPARTMENTAL PREFERENCES:
The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of healthcare management experience and previous experience in a hospital or clinical practice environment.
