Statement of Job :

The University of Southern Maine Athletic Department is seeking applicants for temporary positions as Summer Camp Coaches.

We are seeking energetic camp staff to provide a safe and memorable experience for our campers. The staff will be responsible for coaching / teaching the campers in the chosen sport.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent multitasker with a genuine passion for working with, and empowering, young campers.

Applicants should be patient, fun-loving and confident in their ability to motivate and assist campers.

Camp responsibilities and duties :

• Working under the camp director you will perform various duties throughout the week of camp involving teaching the fundamentals of the sport to campers.
• Camp hours are Monday-Thursday 9am-4pm, with some additional hours for pre-camp meetings and post-camp wrap up.

Softball Day Camp

Dates : July 8 - 11,

Baseball Day Camp

Dates : July 22 - 25,

Volleyball Day Camp

Dates : July 29 August 1,

Coed Soccer Camp

Dates : July 29 August 1,

Qualifications :

Must know the rules and fundamental techniques of playing and teaching the sport. Current and former high school / college athletes and current and former coaches preferred.

Minimum of $14.15 / hour, could increase based on experience.
