The lab uses mouse genetics, mammalian cell culture, single-cell and bulk multiomics sequencing, advanced microscopy, etc. to study the mechanisms of axon regeneration and neuroprotection using neural injury and neurodegenerative disease models. Prior experience with mouse colony breeding and management, rodent surgery, molecular biology experiments, cell culture, histology, or fluorescence microscopy is preferred.Nature of WorkThe Research Scientist will perform technical laboratory duties and related data analysis in support of ongoing research projects. The position may also involve learning sophisticated techniques and skillsets or modifying existing experimental protocols as required for the projects and maintaining equipment and training new lab members. In addition, the Research Scientist will also play a major role in ordering, inventory management, and general organization of the laboratory space. A successful candidate is expected to work well in a collegial environment and interact efficiently with other lab members.
