USF is looking for a motivated, organized, and passionate Assistant Director of Digital Fundraising to support the growth of USFs digital giving programs and digital donor experience for USF's supporters.
As the Assistant Director of Digital Fundraising, you will manage digital fundraising efforts to acquire, retain, and engage USF's donors. You will become a USF content expert; continually building your knowledge of the university, its schools, and its programs. You'll be the subject matter expert for USF digital fundraising and bring innovative ideas to launch digital campaigns. You'll inspire donors to give to USF - again and again - and change the lives of current & future students through education.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Director of Annual Giving, and with the support of the Annual Giving team, the Assistant Director willimplement a growing digital fundraising program and campaigns, executing effective strategies and techniques in email marketing, digital advertising, website promotions, and other efforts. The Assistant Director will lead and coordinate digital fundraising activities, developing and implementing strategies to support fundraising & donor engagement. The Assistant Director will implement deadline-driven digital fundraising campaigns including USF's day of giving "Day of the Dons," Giving Tuesday, calendar year-end, fiscal year-end, and launch new campaigns. The Assistant Director will support digital assets and online fundraising activities for donor-facing programs managed by other Development teams, schools, and units. The Assistant Director serves as a key member of the Annual Giving & Development teams and will be instrumental to help shift culture to fully embrace digital innovation and experimentation to deliver a great donor experience.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Manage USF's digital fundraising program and platform to grow online giving revenue - $1.5 million in FY21 - and achieve goals including donation conversion, audience engagement, retention, and lifetime value.
Serve as the primary expert and liaison for USF's online giving platform, currently GiveCampus. Create and maintain all of USF's online donation forms, recommend and implement innovations and upgrades when needed or appropriate. Serve as platform administrator by configuring settings, providing reports to partners, creating URL redirects, managing fund designations, representing GiveCampus at ITS & Development Operations meetings & projects, and more.
Create and lead execution of email marketing campaigns for email subscribers to drive donation conversion and audience engagement. This includes solicitation emails, stewardship emails, personalized mid-level communications, audience- and interest-driven engagement emails i.e. e-newsletters, event invitations, etc.
Partner with the Office of Marketing and Communications, Development Communications and other key stakeholders to manage the digital fundraising advertising program, and develop and implement paid digital advertising campaigns to acquire and retain donors through existing and emerging advertising platforms like Facebook, Google Ad, Bing, etc.
As permitted by our systems, create triggered email marketing campaigns to drive donor retention and conversion and increase lifetime donor value. These include custom welcome series tailored to specific audiences, drip campaigns, 2nd gift conversion campaigns, and other automated campaigns.
Execute copy development, email coding and setup, audience segmentation and selection, donation form setup, and donation source tracking for digital and integrated fundraising campaigns, as well as digital stewardship and engagement efforts.
Support and/or implement digital conversion strategies for programs where fundraising is not the primary objective (i.e. virtual events, CelebrateUSF, school/unit efforts, etc.).
Plan and collaborate digital program & campaigns with key partners: E-Communications, Digital Marketing, Web Support, Development Communications, and Development Operations. Partner on campaigns and efforts with Alumni Engagement, Special Events, Planned Giving, and more.
Collaborate with team members managing high-value donor programs to produce digital engagement distributed to many that feels personal.
Analyze effectiveness of digital fundraising campaigns against organizational and industry benchmarks. Monitor and interpret program KPIs, giving statistics, trends, successes, and outcomes, sharing results and key takeaways with Development and other colleagues to optimize program impact.
Recommend and implement thoughtful testing and program or campaign improvements to ensure campaign strategy and performance goals are met. Manage testing plan and roadmap to optimize digital fundraising efforts to increase revenue and lifetime donor value.
Produce ad hoc reporting to answer questions and evaluate tests.
Oversee regular audits of digital fundraising collateral to ensure evergreen content is continually monitored and refreshed to ensure the best digital user experience, as well as messaging consistency, accuracy, and relevance.
Manage workflow and production schedule of digital fundraising pieces and campaigns across teams.
In collaboration with colleagues across departments, support email list growth through paid and unpaid digital efforts.
As appropriate, create and deploy web assets (i.e lightboxes and homepage heroes etc.) and update fundraising website content.
Manage third-party digital fundraising programs to generate revenue, like Facebook Donate, ensuring a positive donor experience as well as consistency with USF messaging.
Partner with colleagues to develop social fundraising strategy and content in support of evergreen, campaign-specific, and other digital fundraising objectives.
Partner to help Development Operations develop an ongoing process for email list hygiene and clean-up in the supporter database and related systems, based on best practice.
Manage and implement policies and procedures related to digital fundraising and as needed the digital platform(s) / infrastructure supporting USF's digital efforts across Development, schools, etc.
Become an expert on the various entities and activities that annual giving supports as well as other programs at USF for which gifts are being sought or that may be of interest to donors.
Support goals and projects of USF Development by occasional travel, evening and weekend work.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in relevant field and/or equivalent professional work experience.
A minimum of 3 years of progressive and successful digital fundraising, marketing, or relevant experience.
Commitment to appropriate use of sensitive and confidential constituent data. Familiarity with relevant privacy laws.
Experience with at least one eCRM tool.
Familiarity with integrated and non-integrated email fundraising platforms and CRMs preferred; experience with Salesforce preferred.
Proven donor strategy and communication skills, including experience in creating effective digital and multichannel campaigns and writing for email, mobile, website, digital ads, and social media.
HTML and CSS skills preferred.
Google Analytics setup and reporting experience preferred.
Photoshop or other graphics software experience. Graphic design skills preferred.
Experience with Google paid advertising and Facebook advertising campaigns.
Demonstrated experience creating, distributing, and reporting on performance of digital content.
Strong communications and project management skills, including writing and editing for donor communications and fundraising.
Highly collaborative, organized, and detail-oriented.
Able to gather, distill, and communicate input to and from multiple stakeholders.
Strong understanding of digital content production workflow processes and strong project management skills.
Thrive in deadline-driven environment, comfortable moving multiple projects at various steps through the pipeline.
