Job Summary:
The Assistant Director for Enrollment and Recruitment at the Sacramento Campus provides recruitment, lead generation, admissions and enrollment services and support designed to meet the needs of prospective, admitted, deposited, and enrolled undergraduate and graduate students and alumni for all Sacramento Campus Programs. As part of the Sacramento team, the Assistant Director works with Sacramento colleagues, partners within the university's schools and colleges related to the Sacramento programs, and departments in Academic and Enrollment Services to provide a broad range of independent and complex operations, recruitment, and enrollment services. The Assistant Director will also provide guidance and leadership to the campus community when the Campus Director is unavailable.
Full Job Description:
Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Primary objective is the planning and attainment of Sacramento campus enrollment and revenue generation goals.
  • Serves as liaison with community college counselors and community partners, and participates in tabling at education fairs, corporate, public, and other events.
  • Conducts information meetings on-ground at the Sacramento Campus and virtually through Zoom or Slate.
  • Assists with market research, developing knowledge of competitor programs, and finding marketing opportunities in the Sacramento region.
  • Assists Campus Director with developing and implementing the student recruitment/outreach marketing plan.
  • Works collaboratively and maintains balance of attention to schools, colleges, administration, and campus colleagues to facilitate coordination of enrollment, marketing, and recruitment.
  • Conducts preliminary transcript evaluations for undergraduate prospects.
  • Meets with prospective students and serves as an initial resource on academic degree planning; general education, major, minor and graduation requirements, tuition and fees, financial aid, application procedures and corresponding educational planning.
  • Advises and proposes solutions to the Campus Director on issues that may create barriers to students' seamless transitions to USF.
  • Assists the Campus Director with reporting enrollment, and developing, reviewing and evaluating metrics to determine success of marketing and recruitment efforts.
  • Assists with new student orientations, graduation ceremonies and other campus related events.
  • Development, revision, and updating of all media including, but not limited to, webpages, email campaigns, social media postings, text messaging, etc.
  • Serves as a resource to students, staff, and faculty members.
  • Advise and direct students and faculty about administrative policies and issues.
  • Assists with questions and problems related to facilities issues.
  • Exercises best judgement and provides leadership to the campus community when the Campus Director is unavailable.
  • Assists with providing a clean and organized environment for all students, staff and faculty.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree strongly preferred.
  • At least three years recruitment /advising and/or sales experience, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Two years of public speaking experience.
  • At least two years of marketing experience, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Ability to plan, analyze and evaluate projects.
  • Adept with Social Media marketing, and experienced with venues such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Blogs.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Slate, Banner, Unibuddy, and Events Management helpful.
  • Capable of troubleshooting minor IT issues.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a small, cohesive team.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience working with diverse populations (faculty and students preferred) and cultivating an inclusive environment that will support USF's Jesuit mission
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective, collaborative professional relationships with staff and faculty colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
  • Strong equity lens, cultural humility, and proven ability to work well in a diverse context.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, establish priorities, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and follow through and meet deadlines.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of transcript evaluation preferred.
  • Proficiency with web authoring, desktop publishing, Word, spreadsheets (Excel), electronic mail, presentation (PowerPoint), etc. Slate and Banner are highly preferred.
  • Some evenings and weekends required.
  • Understanding of and commitment to USF's Vision, Mission and Values.
  • Ability to travel within the Sacramento Campus' regional recruitment area.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds, and sit or stand for extended periods of time.
