The admissions adviser plays a pivotal role in the recruitment and retention of students for the School of Leadership and Education Sciences (SOLES). The adviser communicates extensively with prospective SOLES graduate students through telephone, e-mail, virtual and in-person advising appointments. The adviser also acts as the admissions representative for individuals from the community, faculty, and staff in SOLES and throughout USD. In addition, the adviser will respond to questions and inquiries relating to SOLES, admissions, departmental operations, and projects. In addition, the adviser serves as general administrative support within the department. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Admissions and Outreach, the adviser coordinates recruitment and retention events (online and in-person) for all SOLES graduate programs. The adviser maintains strict confidentiality regarding all office documents and matters related to visitors, students, and personnel. Immediate supervision is from the Assistant Director of Admissions and Outreach. Supervision provided by the Director in the Assistant Director’s absence. This position exercises immediate supervision of student volunteers, as assigned.
