University of Saint Francis is Hiring a Stage Technician Near Fort Wayne, IN

POSITION TITLE: Stage Technician
DEPARTMENT: Facilities and Events
POSITION STATUS: PRN/On-Call (12-month)
POSITION REPORTS TO: Technical Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Technical Manager; the Stage Technician is responsible for providing technical support, setup, and operation of audiovisual and stage technology during stage and event presentations in USF facilities. This is a PRN/on-call, non-benefitted position.
Major Responsibilities/ActivitiesTechnical Service and Support:
  • Operate audiovisual technology as needed for university events and activities as required by the event or production type
  • Complete the delivery, setup, and configuration of audiovisual hardware and peripherals as needed for custom setups and university events including microphones, speakers, projectors, screens, monitoring systems and other AV-related devices
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve audiovisual and stage problems for users during events and productions in USF facilities
  • Perform setup and configuration of lighting as appropriate for events and productions
  • Perform rigging and setup of stage draperies and backdrops as appropriate for events and productions
  • Perform service and maintenance for audiovisual and stage equipment and related peripherals
  • Assist in any video or audio recording of events or productions in USF facilities
  • Maintain a positive attitude, and performs well in stressful environments
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum QualificationsEducation
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Experience
  • One to two years of experience working with audiovisual equipment including digital audio consoles, sound reinforcement systems, amplifiers, microphones, and necessary cabling
  • Experience with stage lighting consoles, lighting instruments, DMX signals, necessary cabling, and stage rigging is preferred
  • Experience with visual and broadcast technologies including cameras, tripods, projectors, video switchers, and livestream technology is preferred
Knowledge And Skills
  • Ability to set up, configure, and operate audiovisual equipment
  • Working knowledge of video, lighting, and audio networking technologies
  • Working knowledge of video and sound recording equipment and editing software
  • Troubleshooting techniques of audio, lighting, and video technologies
  • Working knowledge in Windows and IOS operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively fulfill this position's expectations
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision to begin projects independently and conclude projects in a timely manner
  • Must be able and willing to work 1st or 2nd shift and weekends as required
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer
  • Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting heavy equipment up to 50lbs unassisted, bending, standing, climbing, and walking
