Position Overview:
As a Patient Experience Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring each patient's visit is seamless and satisfying. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of vital tasks, including reception, registration, appointment scheduling, and managing electronic health records. With accuracy at the forefront, you'll not only facilitate billable services but also guarantee an outstanding experience for every individual!
What You'll Do:
Warm Reception: Welcome patients with a friendly smile, ensuring a positive start to their ambulatory journey. Verify patient information using dual identifiers, guide them to the appropriate destination, and address any special needs promptly.
Efficient Registration: Gather patient demographic and financial details efficiently and with a customer-centric approach. Verify information for accuracy to establish billable accounts, inputting data into our advanced medical record system.
Scheduling Excellence: Utilize cutting-edge technology to schedule appointments, monitor schedules, and proactively address any issues. Coordinate ancillary testing and referrals, ensuring a seamless patient experience.
Telephone Mastery: Answer calls promptly and courteously, expertly managing incoming clinic inquiries. Facilitate phone encounters and route them appropriately. Provide patients with valuable information to minimize call distribution.
Record Accuracy: Take the lead in editing and correcting registration errors, ensuring complete and accurate data. Oversee the charge reconciliation process and streamline processes to reduce corrective work.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
1 year of related experience in administration or customer service; or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
Proficiency in word processing and database entry
Demonstrated track record of achieving high customer satisfaction
Location:
URMC- Medical Center Ob/Gyn- Labor and Delivery
Schedule:
· M-F 7am-7 pm or 7pm- 7 am for evening shifts
· Weekends rotating schedule-based on need and availability.
. 3- 12hr shifts to include days and nights
. Can work up to 50% nights per time block
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with medical terminology
Ability to mentor and support less experienced team members
