Meets and works with building managers of all university schools and centers, facilities project managers and external security contractors to provide recommendations, guidance, and oversight in security technology matters.
Job Description
The Security Technology Project Manager reports to the Associate Director of Security Technology for the Division of Public Safety. This position provides guidance and project management oversight for university-wide security technology projects; works with the building managers of schools and centers, as well as with facilities project managers, in providing coordinated safety and security services; responsible for the delivery of quality assurance and customer satisfaction; provides status updates within the ticketing system on all active projects. Moreover, individual serves as the representative of the Division of Public Safety at all security related meetings and is to immediately notify immediate supervisor of all sensitive security issues raised during all security meetings, must document minutes of all meetings, and assist in conducting and tracking the results of weekly status update meetings on all projects with the university's security contractor.
Responsibilities:
Ensures the seamless coordination and delivery of university-wide security technology project processes. Manages university-wide security technology project scope, schedule, cost, and quality control. Provides timely security project status reports to immediate supervisor on a regular basis.
Reviews and comments on all university-wide security technology project submittals, proposals, specifications, and drawings.
Represent public safety at security technology meetings. Meets and works with building managers of all university schools and centers, facilities project managers and external security contractors to provide recommendations, guidance, and oversight in security technology matters.
Ensures compliance with university & public safety security standards, procedures, and policies.
Maintains excellent working knowledge of all public safety security systems. Researches, evaluates, and recommends new security technology and makes recommendations to the immediate supervisor.
Responds to problems and disputes between university entities and external security contractors and escalates violations and takes appropriate corrective action.
Coordinate's asset management of the security technology inventories.
Provide on call support for any security technology related issues

Qualifications:
BA/BS and 3-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Security Technology Project Manager must have a thorough knowledge of electronic security systems including access control, burglar alarm, video, visitor management systems, and emergency phones, as well as system configurations and design. Computer networking knowledge is preferred. The person must have experience in project management and ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic drawings to identify points where security systems are recommended. The Security Technology Project Manager must be effective in representing the Division of Public Safety in working with university customers and potentially with outside business partners. In addition, this position must possess excellent communication and listening skills and should be "people oriented" and have fine-tuned problem solving and decision-making skills. An understanding of higher education environments is preferred. Education and experience equivalent to bachelor's degree and three to five years project management experience, which includes experience in project coordination and electronic security system design, is required. Physical Security Professional (PSP) is preferred. All employees of the Division of Public Safety are "essential" personnel. Candidate must successfully complete a background investigation, including a criminal background check, and must sign a confidentiality statement. Targeted Pay Range: $51,824-$91,232
This Targeted Pay Range is only applicable to this job posting. All salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
