Job Description Summary
Residential & Hospitality Services is one of 18 departments reporting to the Division of Business Services. Consistent with the Business Services mission, our underlying philosophy is to provide our clients with high quality services in a fiscally responsible manner. Residential & Hospitality Services is a group of dedicated, innovative, and student-centered staff that oversee the on-campus living and dining, as well as conferences, programs and events hosted at Penn. The team works closely with other partners to provide students and guests with services that support living and learning at the University of Pennsylvania.
The Department of Residential Services is responsible for administering housing-related services to the 13 College Houses and Sansom Place (graduate and undergraduate housing). Residential Services' on-campus living options span across Penn's 262-acre campus. Residential Services works closely with other partners to provide students and guests with services that support living and learning in the University residences.
Conference & Hospitality Services provides professional expertise for conference, programs, and events hosted at Penn. By showcasing the impressive array of facilities and resources the University has to offer, we strive to make Penn a destination of choice for meeting and event planners. The department is also responsible for the oversight of residential operations, facilities, and support services to the many academic programs, sports camps, meetings and conferences happening on campus during the summer at Penn
Job Description
The Dining Facilities and Project Manager is a full-time position with the primary responsibility for managing the physical environment of seven major dining facilities run by Penn Dining Services.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Manages Residential projects planning, implementation and quality assurance.
Responsible for completing inspections of the dining cafes related to facility defects and safety concerns, representing the department on select dining and residential projects, and the management of all work orders related to dining facilities on campus.
Serves as the main on-campus contact for the laundry vendor serving the residential system
Responsible for managing the Quality Assurance process related to laundry facilities in residences.
Partners with Facilities and Real Estate Services (FRES) and contractors from dining, laundry, to ensure timely completion of projects.
Produces reports with the purpose of measuring the performance of dining facilities and will assist with projects in the Penn residential system.
The overall aesthetics of data reports with robust and intuitive functionality is a critical requirement for success in this position.
This position is designated as "essential", and the successful applicant will be expected to work when normal campus operations are suspended or if there is an emergency impacting on-campus residents.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and Three-Five years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Three to five years of experience with managing facilities-related projects or maintenance in a college, university, dining or large residential complex strongly preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and Business Objects preferred. Facility inspection experience also preferred. This position will require a significant amount of walking between facilities on a daily basis. Excellent oral and written communication required. Must have strong organizational skills,
communication skills, and the ability to manage several projects at same time.
