Job Description Summary
The Penn Center for Cancer Care Innovation (PC3I) is seeking a Communications Associate to elevate the profile of the Center to internal and external audiences as a way to facilitate the Center's effectiveness and enhance the reputation of Penn Medicine as a leader in cancer care innovation. Founded at the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania, PC3I is embedded at the nexus of research and practice. Our mission is to create, test, and scale solutions to improve how we care for patients with cancer. We bring together diverse experts to improve health outcomes, increase healthcare efficiency, reduce cost growth, and apply the latest science to make cancer care better for our patients, providers, community, and partners.
Job Description
DUTIES:
The candidate is responsible for disseminating news about the Center to internal and external audiences, maintaining websites and social media accounts, serving as a liaison to the PR/Communications teams at Penn Medicine and partner centers at Penn, assisting with the creation of presentations and annual reports for key stakeholders, and continuing to refine the Center's communications strategy to align with strategic goals. This is a dynamic position, working closely with PC3I leadership, faculty, and partners under the supervision of the Innovation and Engagement Manager. This is an ideal position for an individual seeking experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and exposure to cutting edge research in cancer care innovation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in communications or equivalent combination of education and related experience. The ideal candidate will have:
excellent written and verbal communication skills;
strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
ability to demonstrate understanding of and proficiency with digital and social media platforms;
demonstrated ability to identify and utilize available resources and manage multiple priorities concurrently;
strong interpersonal skills, judgment, and diplomacy to work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders;
proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred qualifications:
knowledge of software for content management and collaboration (e.g., Box, Smartsheet), websites (e.g. WordPress), and design (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Photoshop).
The Targeted Pay Range for this position is $51,824-63,000. This Targeted Pay Range is only applicable to this job posting. All salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
This position is contingent upon funding.
