Department Summary | The University of North Texas at Dallas New Student Orientation program is seeking New Student Orientation Leaders. The Orientation Leaders will perform a variety of duties and support assignments with well-defined instructions and guidelines provided by the Coordinator of New Student Orientation and New Student Orientation Student Executive Team. Under the direct supervision of the Coordinator of New Student Orientation, Orientation Leaders will serve as a resource and mentor for first-time college freshmen and transfer students throughout the orientation season. |

Minimum Qualifications | Currently enrolled UNT Dallas, UNT Dallas College of Law, HSC or UNT student in good standing and making satisfactory progress toward completion of a degree or certification program. Applicants must possess the following: * Must be present at ALL orientation sessions, preparation, and training days. * Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions, as well as carry them out with little to no redirection. * Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude, high energy, and strong work ethic. * Ability to communicate effectively in front of large groups. * Ability to perform work involving standing, stooping, bending, operating office equipment, or lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds. * Must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment. * Excellent customer service skills, as well as effective oral and written communication skills. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). * Some knowledge of office practices and procedures. * Demonstrated ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions accurately. * Good interpersonal skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural and social backgrounds. * Responsible, reliable and punctual. * Ability to learn assigned tasks readily, to adhere to prescribed routines, and to develop some skill in the operation of common office equipment. * Ability to be present and participate at all orientation sessions and preparation days. * Minimum GPA of 2.0. * Ability to adhere to a strict confidentiality policy and the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act. * Knowledge of appropriate safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed. |
