Provide quality service, education and supervision to the users of the Student Wellness Complex.
1. Possess a working knowledge of fitness principles.
2. Develop safe, sound and challenging workouts for individuals.
3. Develop a rapport with members.
4. Maintain a safe workout environment by supervising exercisers/lifters; educating/ training student-users and clean the equipment.
5. Be attentive and willing to help at all times.
6. Know and enforce all facility rules and be sure that the facility is well organized and kept clean at all times.
7. Enforce facility policies and procedures in all areas.
8. Spot patrons and make spotting decisions based on educated judgment.
9. Provide quality customer service.
10. Maintain a presentable atmosphere though thorough cleaning of equipment and workout space.
11. Re-rack weights by placing them in the designated space.
12. Check equipment for wear and signs of damage and report broken equipment.
13. First responder for emergency situations.

1. Exhibit a willingness to learn.
2. Ability to teach and encourage people to exercise.
3. CPR/AED and First Aid certification required (can be obtained once hired).
4. Must have an interest in personal fitness and a desire to learn.
5. Availability during opening, weekday nights/weekend shifts.
6. Must be able to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week.
7. Must be able to safely lift at least 50 pounds repeatedly.

1. Certification in an area of fitness is preferred, but not required.

This position requires a background check. In conjunction with the University’s policy, this position may also require a credit check.
