Position Summary | The PediatricPulmonary Division at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine invitesapplications for a tenure eligible position- Open Rank. We seek candidates with an established track recordof obtaining extramural funding, strong record of publications in translationalsciences, and administrative experience beyond his/her own research laboratory.Candidates with research grants and pediatric clinical trials experience areencouraged to apply. Ideal candidateswill be collaborative scientists with track record of leadership positions in apediatrics department, Health Sciences Center, Clinical and TranslationalSciences Center, or equivalent. In addition, the candidate is expected to haveexperience with training programs and successful mentorship of trainees andfaculty. Thesuccessful candidate will be expected to establish a dynamic research programand aggressively pursue extramural funding, In addition, the successfulcandidate will be expected to contribute to the Department's education mission Environment: The Department of Pediatrics is located on the UNM Health SciencesCampus, which includes the School of Medicine, College of Nursing, College ofPharmacy, and College of Population Health. The School of Medicine delivershigh-quality comprehensive patient care and education and cutting-edgebiomedical science to the people of New Mexico and beyond. There are over 1200faculty members at the UNM School of Medicine contributing to UNM's rich anddiverse research environment. The UNM Health Sciences Center is the State'sprincipal biomedical research center and offers state-of-the-art corefacilities. The UNM Health Sciences Center includes a Clinical andTranslational Science Center, an NCI designated Cancer Center, Centers of BasicResearch Excellence (CoBRE) for Autophagy, Inflammation and Metabolism (AIM)and for Metals in Biology and Medicine (CMBM), Center for Molecular Discovery,and other centers and programs (https://hsc.unm.edu/research/centers-programs).These Centers provide infrastructure and productively serve as an intellectualhub for the study of metabolic diseases |
