Position Summary

The University of New Mexico’s Project ECHO has an excitingopportunity for a New Mexico Programs’ Grant Manager to support our New MexicoPrograms Team! This position will oversee a state grant portfolio totaling justunder $4 million and play a critical role in managing strong relationships withgrant funders and overseeing multiple stakeholder groups to ensure grantcompliance. ECHO’s New Mexico Programs aim to expand public health programmingfor rural and underserved areas within the state.
As a successful NM Program Grants Manager, you will play anactive role in collaborating with NM Programs’ leadership and otherorganizational team members to:

  • Responsible for the coordination resource planning, budgetplanning and pre-planning operations for NM Programs Grants.
  • Manage coordination resource planning, budget planning, andpre-planning operations for NM Programs Grants
  • Coordinate collaboration, development, and preparation ofassigned New Mexico ECHO grants that include the following:
    • CDC Advancing Health Equity in Diabetes
    • FORE Vulnerable Families and Children
    • HRSA Telehealth Technology-Enabled Learning Program (TTELP)
    • Con Alma Health Foundation
    • USB Optimus
    • SOR New Mexico CHW/PSW Opioid TeleECHO Program
  • Designs and implements systems to track and monitor grantwork plans, deliverables, activities, milestones, and accomplishments.
  • Creates and distributes grant summaries and achievements
  • Ensure grants are in compliance with grant deliverables andfunding requirements; provide guidance and support in the identification anddevelopment of grant opportunities
  • Design and implement systems to track and monitor grant workplans, deliverable, activities, milestones, and accomplishments
  • Collaborate across organizational teams and universitydepartments to provide strategic direction in the planning, development, andimplementation of Grants deliverables and reporting processes, including butnot limited to Grants, Replication, NM Programs, Communications and Marketing,Education, Finance, REDI, JAO, IT, iECHO, IRB, etc.
  • Provide grant reports and program updates in support ofpromoting existing programs and ensure frequent and timely communication withfunders and NM Programs Director and Deputy Director
  • Provide leadership and collaborates with the NM ProgramsTeam and Director of NM Programs with grant prospect research and identifyingpotential grant opportunities based on the NM Programs Team needs and strategicgoals
  • Collaborate with the Medical or Program Directors and SeniorProgram Managers to conceptualize programs and assist with pre-planning tasks
  • Provide strategic advance and consultation to leadership inthe development, implementation, and evaluation of modifications andenhancements to existing grant procedures and systems
  • Maintain knowledge of grant deliverables and communicategrant issues and modifications to NM Programs staff regarding grantdeliverables, grant budgeting, and changes to scope of work within assignmentgrants

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours; at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree; 3-4 years experience
  • Experience in preparing complex and detailed documents for funding proposals, including budgets and budget narratives
  • Knowledge of grant requirements and systems and experience preparing grant submissions
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once and communicate effectively
