Position Summary | UNM Parking and Transportation Services (PATS) has an openingfor a Manager, Public Transport Operations. The successful candidate willoversee a team of Bus Drivers and Field Supervisors. Our transportation team transports students,faculty, staff and visitors. As one of the first University departmentsencountered by many guests and visitors, our employees play an important rolein the University's community outreach efforts and public relations. The successful candidate will be responsible for over 40employees and will be responsible for the development and implementation ofstrategies to make our shuttle system more effective and efficient. The person in this position is considered acertified professional and has tremendous day-to-day responsibility whichrequires specialized skills and training. This individual must possess strong leadership and organizationaldevelopment skills and have experience in management of transportationoperations, budget oversight, managing multiple short and long-term projects,and excellent written and oral communication skills. Minimum Qualifications | High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
Preferred Qualifications | Experience in management and supervision of at least 20 or more employees in a unionized and/or higher education environment. Exceptional customer service and relationship building skills. |
