Position Summary | The Office of Graduate Medical Education is seeking anorganized, detail-oriented individual who can work effectively with others andindependently in a multi-task environment. The primary purpose of the GMEMedical Education Program Specialist is to ensure continuity of key operationsand accreditations for UNM Graduate Medical Education accredited residency andclinical fellowship programs when a program coordinator vacates the position ortakes an extended leave from the program. This person will serve as a liaison between the ProgramDirector, Associate Program Director, Residents/Fellows and the GME office toassist in the daily operational activities of an ACGME accredited residency orfellowship if a coordinator resigns or is out for an extended period of time inthe day to day managing of residents/fellows. Duties may vary depending on the department assigned to the Medical EducationProgram Specialist. This position will also participate and assist programswith recruitment to include updating and manage program information in ERAS(Electronic Residency Application Service, The Match, and J1 Visa applicants ifa program does not have a coordinator. GME Responsibilities will includeidentifying areas for systems improvements across programs, providerecommendations and feedback to GME office. This position will also attend GME events, meetings andtrainings and as a member of the GME office, work on special projects in theoffice as needed, when not assigned to a training program. This position mayalso assist in assessment of program operations, including makingrecommendations for operational/quality improvements. Minimum Qualifications | High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
