UNM’s Facilities Management Department (FM) is looking to hire a skilled HVAC Tech 2 to join one of 4 areas within the Facilities Maintenance Division. The qualified candidate will independently perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance repairs on a wide variety of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems including air distribution machinery, pneumatic and digital controls, hot and chilled water distribution, and variable volume systems. Ability to read blueprints, understand, follow policies and procedures, demonstrate respect, communication, teamwork, and professionalism to successfully complete projects in a safe and timely manner.

• Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
• Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

• Must maintain certification status.

High school diploma or GED; at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Possession of a current New Mexico State Journeyman's Refrigeration License (JR) and EPA Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certification.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

• Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
