The University of New Mexico-Gallup invitesapplications for an Assistant Professor of Human Services to begin in August2024. We are one of four branch community colleges of the University of NewMexico and serve approximately 2200 students. Located in Gallup NM,approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, UNM-Gallup is situated in the FourCorners region and near the Navajo Nation, Zuni Pueblo and HopiReservation. The city of Gallup has a population of 22,000 and thesurrounding areas provide an abundance of outdoor recreational activities,various museums and extraordinary cultural vibrancy, while maintaining asmall-town feel.
UNM-Gallup serves a hugely diverse studentpopulation with 100 full time and part-time faculty members. We arefully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission offering Associate degrees,selected Bachelor's degrees, Career Technical Education certificate programs,and adult basic education (ABE/GED), workforce training and personal enrichmentcourses. UNM-Gallup serves multiple high school populations includingMcKinley Academy, Middle College High School and the Center for Career andTechnical Education.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach 24 credits per academic yearin the area of Human Services and maintain an active scholarship and servicerecord (as defined by the UA-UNM CBA and divisional workload policies),participate in monthly division meetings and execute other relevant duties asagreed upon in conjunction with the division chair in an annual faculty-chairagreement. In addition, the selected candidate will be expected todemonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through activelypracticing inclusive behavior and proactively managing bias.
