This role is for an outpatient nurse supporting the pediatric diabetes program. The position involves but is not limited to providing comprehensive diabetes patient education for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes diagnosis, clinic support, equipment troubleshooting, and community engagement. Hours are Mon-Fri , rotating weekends on call for new patient teaching, with scheduling flexibility and no major holidays. Position Summary:
Provide safe, direct patient care utilizing the nursing process in the ambulatory setting. Provide clinical leadership for staff. Provide clinical mentorship to staff. Serve as role model. Provide full range of patient education to patients and family members. Assume relief charge duties, when designated. Under direction of designated shift supervisor. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.

Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
