Job Description

The Digital Content Specialist is a member of the Business Operations Marketing and Communications team, developing content for a variety of Mizzou units including The Mizzou Store, A.L. Gustin Golf Course and Campus Dining Services.

This team member will tell stories and create dynamic marketing and communication materials across platforms to support Mizzou Business Operations’ goals and objectives.
The qualified candidate should enjoy working collaboratively with a broad and diverse group of stakeholders and colleagues within a team-oriented environment.

This is an in person/on campus position.

Duties include:

  • Developing and implementing digital communication campaigns across platforms, including web, texting, email and social media.
  • Building and executing social media strategy through research, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification; this includes monitoring current social media trends and applying those trends to the accounts managed to grow impact and engagement.
  • Creating and implementing a social media marketing plan and editorial calendar.
  • Creating and editing photo and video content for multiple unit social media accounts.
  • Generating, editing, publishing and scheduling/sharing content that aligns with our brand strategy and addresses the needs and interests of our multiple stakeholders.
  • Tracking and analyzing data to gain insight on traffic, demographics and effectiveness, then utilizing this information to positively affect future outcomes.
  • Collaborating with Business Operations units to manage reputation, coordinate promotions and increase reach.
  • Collaborating with team members to develop a content strategy that promotes internal and external user engagement.
  • Collaborating with university partners to ensure maximum outcome for the efforts of the marketing and communications team.
  • Creating, editing and managing the digital display screen messaging for campus units.

Shift

Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm occasional early mornings or evening possible

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Exceptional interpersonal skills and communication abilities
Experience working in a team to develop creative assets
Knowledge of best practices to execute marketing and communications plans across a variety of platforms including graphic displays, social media, print and web
Experience with multimedia, photography and video
Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $22.00-$28.00 per hour

Grade: GGS-008
