Shift: Day, M-F, various shifts; No nights, weekends, or University of Missouri holidays; No call

Salary Range: $36.19 /hour - $ 52.67 /hour, based on work experience

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Coordinate new hire orientation, access individual learning needs, coordinate the orienteer's schedule with the preceptor's schedule, evaluate performance of orientee and preceptor, monitor progress towards achieving competency, and evaluate and share performance with leadership. Ensure documentation of performance during orientation. Act as a resource and coach as needed.
  • Plan for ongoing staff education using the process of program planning consisting of needs assessment, goals, objectives, teaching strategies, evaluation of learning, evaluation of implementation in nursing practice, and achieving established competencies.
  • Plan, develop, facilitate, and evaluate the implementation of new nursing processes/practices.
  • Promote and achieve satisfaction of external and internal customers. Effectively intercede with families and patients and resolve concerns related to the delivery of health care services.
  • Provide patient care as required using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care to an assigned group of patients.
  • Provide patient care by maintaining standards of care utilizing the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses as the foundation for nursing practice and meeting the standards for regulatory requirements for state and federal agencies.
  • May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.

One (1) year of acute care and/or operating room RN experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs.

This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
