We mainly focus on cardiac maladaptive remodeling and dysfunction in diverse pathological settings, such as pressure overload, myocardial infarction, obesity, and diabetes, as well as vein graft failure, arteriovenous fistula failure, and cardiac allograft vasculopathy. This research will involve the formulation and testing of hypotheses utilizing animal models, primary cultures of cardiovascular cells, molecular and cell biology techniques, and imaging techniques. The postdoctoral fellows will be expected to be current in biological science, to plan and conduct experiments, interpret data, and publish results. Successful candidates will have a significant record of accomplishment that demonstrates creativity and initiative and will be working as a team closely with the PI in his well-equipped state of the-art research lab. Preference will be given to recently graduated candidates with strong career motivation.

In addition, it includes mouse crossbreeding to generate mice with conditional gene knockout and overexpression specific in cardiovascular cells as well as the cell lineage fate mapping of cardiovascular cells.* Design and evaluate experiments; develop new ideas that promote current research.* Train and oversee technicians as determined by PI.* Hold responsibility for operation of specific equipment if needed.* Prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under the direction of the PI.* Perform other duties as assigned or requested by PI.

Qualifications

Education: Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent from an accredited institution in any field of biochemistry, biology, pharmacology, and medicine.

Candidates will be evaluated on: highly motivated, have scientific independence, excellent English speaking and writing skills, and international peer-reviewed publications. Practical experience with molecular and cellular biology techniques, such as tissue cultures, genetic manipulation (knock down, knockout, and overexpression), and single-cell multiomics is required. Experiences in cardiac or vascular biology/physiology research and creating mouse models of cardiovascular diseases, such as TAC model, myocardial infarction, vein graft transplantation or arteriovenous fistula are highly preferred. Experience in multiomics data analysis will be a plus.
