About the Job
The MIS Quarterly (MISQ) is a premier, international academic journal in the field of management information systems that publishes high-quality research about the development of information technology-based services, the management of information technology resources, and the economics and use of information technology with managerial and organizational implications. The MISQ began in 1977 through the joint efforts of the Management Information Systems Research Center (MISRC) of the University of Minnesota and the Society for Information Management (SIM).
This role is a temporary part-time role, 14 hours/week, for providing assistance to collaborative editorial and publishing team. The person will ensure help in timely and high quality publication of the MISQ manuscripts and help in preparing the creation of management reports. This role helps the MISQ team in the journals' production and publication workflows. The assistant publication and management editor must be motivated, analytical, and professional with excellent interpersonal, communication, and people
management skills and the ability to establish strong working relationship with MISQ production management team. This includes ensuring that manuscripts are processed efficiently by the copy editors and typesetters and that issues are published on time to the right quality standard. They will work with the publishing team to ensure that the journal opertations run in timely and efficient manner. Overall, this role focuses on assisting in aligning all aspects of the MISQ's publishing operations to build a strong presence that serves as a leader in the field of information systems.

Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of Bachelor's degree in multimedia related studies.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with a wide array of multimedia tools. Experience with storytelling for academic content, experience with storytelling of MIS related academic content is preferred. Editorial experience
with analytical writing, presentations and storytelling. Familiarity with multimedia tools such as Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, etc. for creative content generation. Familiarity with social media tools with publication experience on sites such as YouTube, Facebook, X, and Instagram. Familiarity with Google application suite. Ability to learn publication management systems such as Manuscript Central. Ability to work with tools to generate HTML and XML files.
