The Advanced Practice Sonographer-Fetal Therapy Focus (APS-FTF) functions as a highly experienced sonographer, working with the Fetal Therapy Program and the Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment Center (FDTC). The role and responsibilities extend beyond those of a staff sonographer. These responsibilities are focused on the performance of a full range of diagnostic ultrasound and fetal intervention procedures in the outpatient and inpatient settings. The primary functions will be to assist with scanning and evaluation of patients with complex pregnancies including potential candidates for prenatal interventions. This role will also assist in the training and guidance of ultrasound sonographers and include participation in clinical research studies and training of medical trainees and staff. The activities are performed in accordance with facility policies and procedures and applicable professional standards.
