University of Michigan is Hiring a Stewardship Officer, Fund Management Near Ann Arbor, MI

Summary

As the Stewardship Officer, Fund Management, you will help us develop university gift fund management review and compliance processes, while also providing project management coordination and administrative support. You will work with us on our Stewardship and Donor Relations team to provide exceptional customer service to the university's donors and members of the U-M community. You will report to the Senior Director for Financial Reporting, Gift Fund Management, and Stewardship Programs.

This position is hybrid. It's expected that you will live in commutable distance, be able to attend weekly team meetings in-person, and be in the office 3 days per week especially for training and developing expertise.

Responsibilities*

  • Research individual circumstances of donor giving and gift funds, utilizing data systems, report queries, and internal procedures for 100% accuracy.
  • Partner with Financial Operations and School/College/Unit development partners to develop best practices for gift fund spending and address gift funds identified as underutilized.
  • Create a gift fund management best practices manual to support annual review and research workflow.
  • Support partners with research and data management for their review of unit gift funds.
  • Review and recommend action for high utilization of gift funds for assigned departments.
  • Provide support for implementation and oversight of the university's Stewardship and Gift Fund Management policy.
  • Support and encourage university initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and training.
  • 1 years of experience with database and reporting systems.
  • Comfortable dealing with financial reporting
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Customer service skills and knowledge.
  • Experienced PC user, knowledge of MS excel (can perform complex functions) and Google Sheets.
