Summary

This position is in the Section of Plastic Surgery in the Michigan Center for Hand Outcomes and Innovative Research (MCHOIR). The team consists of nearly 30 members, including faculty, fellows, research staff, and students. MCHOIR staff perform a wide array of clinical and health services research. Primary methodologies include decision analyses, large database studies, and clinical trials.

Responsibilities*

  • Assist in writing clinical research grants and protocols
  • Collecting and managing data for clinical research projects
  • Familiarity with administrative data, statistical programming and analysis, SAS, Stata and R packages.
  • Screens and has oversight for the recruitment of subjects, collects, processes and analyzes data, and manage full- and part-time research assistants.
  • Assists in the reporting of results and writing manuscripts for publication.

Supervision Received: This position reports directly to (a CRC-Lead, CRC-Project Manager, a unit Administrator, Director, or Faculty Principal Investigator)

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelors degree in Health Science or an equivalent combination of related education and experience is necessary.
  • Certification is required through Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) as a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Society of Clinical Research Association (SOCRA) as a Certified Clinical Research Professionals (CCRP) or equivalent. Candidates must be eligible to register or take the exam at date of hire and the certification must be completed or passed etc. within six months of date of hire. (Please review eligibility criteria from or prior to applying)
  • Minimum 2 years of directly related experience in clinical research and clinical trials is necessary. (Please review SOCRAs definition of a Clinical Research Professional for qualifying experience prior to applying.)
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong writing ability are required.
  • Knowledge of IRB research applications and amendments
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point and citation management.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, preferably Epidemiology, Biostatistics
  • 4 years of direct related experience
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong writing ability are required.
  • Knowledge of IRB research applications and amendments
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point and citation management.

Work Schedule

The work schedule will be Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. This position will first be full time in the office at NCRC, with the ability in the future to go hybrid. You will be working in Dr. Chung lab and under his supervision.
