Summary

We are looking for an Audiologist with experience in both intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring (IOM) and clinical diagnostic audiology to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated and sincere interest in career development in the area
of IOM. This position offers an opportunity to participate in the clinical education of audiology doctoral students and audiology IOM fellows, otolaryngology residents and fellows, as well as participation and contribution to clinical research activities.

Responsibilities*

  • Provide direct (in room) intraoperative neurophysiological intraoperative monitoring services for various surgical services with an emphasis on cranial nerve monitoring
  • Comprehensive audiological assessment for patients of various ages, with a focus on the adult population
  • Ability to maintain a busy audiology schedule at various locations; travel to satellite locations is expected with this position
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (Epic) and various audiology-specific software
  • Participation in case conferences, grand rounds, journal club, audiology committees, and audiology program meetings

Required Qualifications*

  • Doctorate or Master?s degree in Audiology
  • State of Michigan Audiology license (or eligible)
  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Audiology, awarded by the American Speech and Hearing Association is necessary.
  • Able to successfully complete Michigan Medicine provider credentialing
  • Clinical experience including IOM and diagnostic audiologic testing
  • Intellectual inquisitiveness. Industrious, attentive, and detail-oriented approach. Capacity and disposition to learn from colleagues, being led by standardized clinical protocols that ensure
    consistent, quality experiences for patients.
  • Staff audiologists new to Michigan Medicine are provided a clinical mentor.
  • Superior collaborative skills used within a care team that includes audiologists, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and support personnel.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience with digital audiometric software and electronic medical records
  • Experience working in a very busy fast-paced clinical environment
  • Experience working with technical support staff

Union Affiliation

This position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
