About Emerging Professionals Summer Internship Program (EPSIP) at UMass Chan Medical School
The Emerging Professionals Summer Internship Program (EPSIP) is a paid internship experience for talented college students. Individuals historically underrepresented in STEM, health science and medicine are strongly encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to students that identify from one of the following underrepresented groups in STEM, health science and medicine: Black/African Americans, Hispanic or Latinx, American Indian or Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and other Pacific Islanders, individuals with a disability or the first in their family to attend college, are also strongly encourage to apply.

The Office of Community and Government Relations (OCGR) hopes to host an EPSIP student for the summer to assist with a variety of projects in our office. We are looking for a self-starter to assist primarily with communications and research efforts centered on community engagement efforts. Specifically we are looking for the intern to assist with the following:
• Assist in Dynamic Futures programming, creating Cohort 3 program booklet and other materials, assist with program implementation and administrative duties• Assist in organizing and strengthening volunteer site database, connecting with community partners• Research and report on best practices for increasing employee and non-profit organization participation in volunteer service paid time off initiatives• Update and maintain OCGR’s social media presence• Assist in populating Collaboratory database of UMass Chan community engaged activities, working with appropriate staff, faculty, and community partners• Develop an electronic update for UMass Chan employees who have supported the North Quadrant Support Services initiative, highlighting activities and impact of NQSS funded activities• Assist in planning and data collection process for UMass Chan’s Carnegie Foundation Community Engaged Campus recertification
