The University of Maryland Access Center Nursing Coordinator assumes accountability for system-wide placement of patients into available beds 24 hours/7 days a week. The nursing coordinator collaborates with Access Center Physicians (ACP) and hospital-based shift coordinators/supervisors to assure that decisions are consistent with hospital/service line priorities and hospital resources. The nursing coordinator may assist hospital administration and /or the Administrator-on-call in resolving issues which require attention.
