The Division of Social Sciences, Business, and Global Studies at the University of Maine at Farmington invites applications for a part-time faculty for Business 220 for Fall 2023.

BUS 220: Introductory, primarily business oriented, micro-marketing analysis. The marketing concept is studied through analysis of the four P's (product, price, place, and promotion) as the controllable variables marketing managers blend into a marketing mix to satisfy a particular target market. It includes an analysis of the marketing, marketing systems, and organization of marketing efforts. This course captures the essence of the role of marketing in consumer needs and marketing activities.

Essential duties, include but not limited to:

  • Lesson planning
  • Assignment design
  • Grading
  • Correspondence with students
  • Course coordination meetings with the Division Chair or other faculty members
  • Required orientation and training

Part-time faculty members are paid on a credit hour bases, in accordance with the Maine Part-Time Faculty Association (PATFA) contract. Part-time temporary faculty members may teach in subsequent semesters based on course funding, performance, and availability. Continuation is subject to the terms of the PATFA bargaining agreement and other applicable University policies.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Ph.D. in business or a business-related field

  • Experience in higher education and teaching at an undergraduate level
