Position Title : Costume Studio Student Assistant

Supervisor : Costume Studio Supervisor

Term : Academic Year 2024-2025, opportunity for further renewal

Hours / Week : 10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling and working location options.

Job Purpose : To perform all tasks assigned in an accurate and reasonable manner as it relates to theatre facilities

Skills Development and Learning Opportunities

• Stitching and creation of clothing
• Organization of costuming equipment and supplies
• Prepares theatre events sites for event use
• Assists with the set-up and take down of clothing for performances
• Assists with support of performances
• Responsible for wardrobe during performances as needed
• Responsible for ensuring that theatre shops are clean and all equipment is in its proper locations.
• Perform any other related duties.

Essential Duties :

• Stitching and creation of garments related to performances
• Organization of theatrical equipment and supplies
• Prepares theatre events sites for event use
• Assists with the set-up and take down of events.
• Assists with support of events
• Responsible for ensuring that theatre shops are clean and all equipment is in its proper locations.
• Perform any other related duties.

Equipment Used :

• Sewing Machine
• Sewing Equipment (scissors, needle and thread, seam ripper, etc.)
• Iron
• Washer and Dryer

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs.
• Able to communicate effectively with staff and community members.
• Ability to work with a diverse student population, as well as faculty, staff, and parents.
