Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit at the Circulation desk using a computer for several hours at a time. Must be able to lift books that could weigh up to 30 pounds each, place books on book carts, push carts to various locations and reshelve them.
Shift
  • Monday through Friday: 4pm to 8pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 1pm to 5pm
(Number of hours per week could vary)
Job Summary
Duties include working at the Circulation desk: answering & transferring phone calls,
checking library materials out & back in using Alma, searching for UK library materials for patrons
using InfoKat Discovery, answering directional & basic reference questions, and making referrals to MCL librarians.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Basic computer data entry skills, proper telephone etiquette, good verbal communication, and excellent customer service.

Preferred Education/Experience
Prior library work experience; or any job with customer service experience.
