Physical Requirements
The physical requirements for this position include regularly sitting at a computer workstation with repetitive motion (such as typing); standing, sitting, walking including pushing, pulling, and/or lifting up to 10lbs and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects up to 50lbs.

Job Summary
The CT Surgery APP will work with the Thoracic Surgery team to provide outpatient care to patients with cancer and benign conditions of the lungs, esophagus, mediastinum, and pleura. They will meet patients planned for surgery at their initial clinic visit and maintain contact until the day of surgery helping them navigate any preoperative testing, performing patient education, and assisting to set expectations and answer questions about their treatment experience.
After surgery they will connect with our inpatient team to facilitate transition back to the outpatient clinic and act as the primary point of contact for patients between their discharge and first follow up visit. For patients with more complex post-surgical needs (feeding tubes, pleural catheters, chest tubes, wound issues, etc.), they will maintain ongoing contact with the patients to address concerns and forward any new or ongoing issues to the surgical team.
The CT Surgery Ambulatory APP works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team to provide CT Surgery consultation and management of ambulatory patients through the UKHC system.
The APP functions as a member of the CT Surgery practice and works as the expert to assist with chronic and acute conditions in the ambulatory setting including being a resource for the mulitfaceted CT surgery team.
The APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and ensuring an environment of safe quality care. The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.
