Job Description Summary:
This position is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating and maintaining a comprehensive occupational health program for respiratory protective equipment usage for the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC).
This position, like all KU Medical Center positions, is an integral part of a diverse community that encourages and provides opportunities for cultural engagement.
This position directly reports to the Industrial Hygienist.
Job Description:
Benefits package includes:

Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000
The Occupational Health Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating and maintaining a comprehensive occupational health program for respiratory protective equipment usage for the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC).
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene) or related degree
Proficient understanding of respirator fit testing requirements (OSHA 1910.134)
Outstanding communication skills in working with a variety of constituents with internal and external customers
Strong Critical thinking skills and ability to problem solve in a variety of situations
Experience in clinical records/office management (forms development, record design and maintenance, security and HIPAA rules and regulations)
Familiarity with quality improvement/auditing requirements
Preferred qualifications:
Five years or more of experience in clinical practice, with preference for Occupational Health or ambulatory clinical setting
Job Duties Outlined:
Respirator Fit Testing
Coordinate all scheduled activities related to fit testing N95s for Students, Faculty and Staff
Conduct fit testing in accordance with OSHA regulations and guidelines
Document and keep a record of the individuals fit tested along with the status of approval
Assist in the development, and review processes for the fit testing policy
Develops and delivers emergency medical related training including but not limited to:
CPR
First Aid
Stop the Bleed
AED
Works with departments outside of EHS to create a coordinated approach to campus emergency safety including but not limited to Human Resources, Student Health, Occupational Health, and Campus Resiliency
Coordinate mandatory and voluntary testing for individuals exempted from mandatory vaccinations
Assist with review of medical surveillance needs
Other duties as assigned
