University of Iowa Health Care Health System is Hiring a Phlebotomy Technician I - 60% Near Iowa, IA

The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Nursing is seeking to fill Phlebotomy Technician I positions to perform phlebotomy/specimen collection and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy, labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies.

Duties to include:

  • Performs phlebotomy draws
  • Performs computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required
  • Orders, receives, and distributes supplies
  • Responds to basic phlebotomy inquiries and otherwise represents assigned and related work areas

Percent of Time: 60%
Schedule:4am-1230pm, 8 hour shifts, every other weekend, every other holiday
Location: UIHC Main Campus

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • High school graduation or equivalent

Special Qualifications:

  • Previous public contact/customer service experience

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience
  • Minimum six (6) months previous experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Basic computer skills
  • Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment
  • Previous patient contact experience
