About the Department of Pediatrics
The Department of Pediatrics and the Children’s Hospital of the University of Illinois is home to >120 faculty, 39 Pediatric Residents, 16 Med/Peds Residents, 14 Fellows, and a growing, nationally ranked pediatric research program. Each year, our faculty receives more than $20 million in research grants. The Partnership for Pediatric Care encompassing the inpatient units at Children’s Hospital of the University of Illinois (CHUI) and Cook County Health includes more than 110 beds (16 pediatric intensive care, 24 step-down, and 70 neonatal intensive care unit). Designations include Level III NICU, PCCC (critical care), EDAP (emergency room), and Burn and Trauma (CCH). The Partnership for Pediatric Care provides convenient access to outpatient services at more than 30 locations including Mile Square Federally Qualified Health Centers and Cook County Health clinics. Each year, the Partnership for Pediatric Care serves more than 100,000 children with nearly 230,000 visits. The Department of Pediatrics has the primary leadership role in the child health enterprise across UI Health.
About the Section of Pediatric Pulmonary, Allergy & Immunology and Sleep Medicine
The Section of Pediatric Pulmonary, Allergy-Immunology, and Sleep Medicine offers extensive services for evaluation and management of acute and chronic respiratory diseases, allergies (food and environmental), primary and secondary immune deficiencies, and sleep disorders. We provide allergy tests by skin prick test, blood test, and food challenge. Our team provides an individualized action plan and comprehensive patient education. The UI Health Sleep Science Center provides diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment for children with sleep disorders. Our team includes board-certified physicians in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine, Allergy-Immunology, and Pediatric Sleep Medicine; nurses; and pharmacists. Our comprehensive asthma program focuses on preventive care to minimize visits to emergency rooms, unplanned doctors’ office visits, hospitalizations, and school absenteeism

The Section of Pediatric Pulmonary, Allergy & Immunology and Sleep Medicine, Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a committed professional for an Open Rank Faculty (Pediatric Pulmonologist) appointment with rank/tenure commensurate to experience. The successful candidate will develop an academic career in pediatric pulmonary medicine, emphasizing clinical care and teaching excellence. Research opportunities are provided and encouraged based on individual interests and potential.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
MD or equivalent
Unrestricted IL medical license/eligible for IL medical license
Board certified/board eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology
Preferred Qualifications:Training and Board Certification in Sleep Medicine or Allergy and Immunology
Demonstrated experience in academic medical center providing clinical care to patients ages birth to 21.
Demonstrated experience teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
