University of Illinois Chicago is Hiring an Education specialist Near Peoria, IL

Description :

The position will support GME by providing specialized program support, coordination and assistance to the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education (GME) and the GME Administrative Assistant.

This position will require a specialized knowledge of the organization, policies, procedures and activities of the GME department.

The use of various computer and web-based programs is necessary, as is confidentiality while working on various projects and research.

This position will be the point of contact in relation to various curriculums & directors for GME and will provide assistance related to curriculum coordination, program logistics, coordination of resources and specialized support duties.

Provides support to those course directors in planning, scheduling speakers, developing educational schedules, document / medical education material final copy prep, notifications, logistics, etc.

Recommends alternatives as needed. This position is responsible for establishing record of resident participation in required courses / modules / etc.

in accordance with accreditation guidelines as well as keeping abreast of ACGME, UICOMP and associated hospital regulations and procedures.

The curriculum supported by this position includes, but is not limited to : Patient Safety / Process Improvement, Disparities, and Simulations.

This person is the Point of Contact for the curriculum directors and Program Leadership in regards to the GME curriculums.

Utilizes various programs and applications to compile and prepare multi-source materials and presentations, as well as compiling, organizing and maintaining up-to-date back up training sessions.

Finalizes curriculum materials with the Director(s) and Instructional Development team(s) and assures that materials are complete and available for those that require access.

Works directly with faculty to obtain appropriate assessment materials (to evaluate Curriculum, Educational Courses, Simulations, and other GME events) and utilizes assessment applications (as requested) to develop, disseminate, maintain, and upload evaluation materials / results.

Works directly with Program Coordinators & / or Program Directors and Faculty to develop and maintain schedules for reoccurring curriculums, recording of mandatory attendance at meetings, and determines the eligibility for attendance.

This position maybe asked (by Director(s), Instructional Development teams & / or the DIO) to assist with scholarly activity by conducting literature reviews, searches, and IRB document preparation.

This person will obtain a University T-Card, and expected to stay up to date regarding the University Financial System & Policies, in order to ensure proper use & reconciliation.

This position will coordinate and schedule meetings with various faculty leads and take / report minutes at meetings as needed.

Coordinates logistics and scheduling for all GME Curriculums and Events as needed. This person will need to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the office and operations.

This person will assist in the administration of day-to-day operations of the GME central office in collaboration with the Administrative Assistant, and may act as a representative for the GME central office to outside agencies, on committees, & / or during meetings as applicable.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Any one or combination totaling four (4) years (48 months), from the categories below : College coursework in medical education, education, communications, public relations, or a closely related field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent : 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months) Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months) 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months) Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months) Progressively more responsible clerical or secretarial experience, including a background in electronic word processing and database management systems.

Please Note : Completion of the Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education Programs Certification (TAGME) from the National Board for Certification of Training Administrators qualifies applicants for each level of this series.
