Contribute to the development, implementation, analysis, and dissemination of public health reports, presentations, press releases, literature reviews, or scholarly products including data analysis for tracking activities, metrics, and outcomes of the project, particularly around the areas of increasing physical activity, improving nutrition, reducing tobacco use, and promoting chronic disease prevention.Write publications for local, national, and/or international dissemination. Author and coauthor reports, policy or data briefs, and/or peer reviewed articles summarizing evaluation findings to add to the public health knowledge base for practice and policy. Apply the social-ecological approach to research and evaluation in collaborative efforts to improve health among the people of HawaiiAssist with data collection, including both field work and data entry, and prepare quantitative and/or qualitative data for analysisTranscribe interviews and assist with qualitative coding and analysis tasksConduct literature searches, review in-text citations, and prepare bibliographiesAssist in grant applications or proposals as appropriateSupport event planning and implementationAssist in developing presentationsAttend staff and project meetingsSupport abstract, manuscript, and report writingOther duties as assigned Minimum QualificationsMaster’s degree in public health, social work, education, or related field from a college or university of recognized standing Knowledge of community health, public health, education, psychology, or related health-field with a health equity lens of relevance to Hawaii and the PacificStrong writing skills as demonstrated by one or more peer-reviewed publications in the past five yearsExperience with research synthesis and systematic literature reviewsKnowledge of the social-ecological model and its application to public health practice and policy Experience with data presentations and data visualizationsDemonstrated knowledge of evaluation concepts and methodsExperience with quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods Ability to work independently to complete tasks, prioritize deliverables, and manage multiple project deadlines Detail oriented and organizedResponsible, dependable, and efficientDesirable QualificationsExperience working with priority populations in Hawaii that experience health inequitiesExperience working in physical activity and nutrition promotion, tobacco use prevention, or chronic disease prevention Experience working on educational or public health initiatives in Hawaii Strong collegial communication and collaborative teamwork skills with an ability to build and sustain relationships and strategic partnerships Experience utilizing statistical software packages (SPSS, SAS, STATA, or R)Experience using design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Piktochart, or related software to create infographics, presentation slides, or reports.
