Minimum Qualifications
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
Previous PeopleSoft and Banner experience.
Previous reconciliation and reporting experience.
Position Summary
This is the second of two Senior Financial Accountants in the Student Account Services Department. This individual will report to the Student Account Services Assistant Manager and be responsible for daily, monthly, quarterly and year end reconciliations and reporting, documentation of procedures, financial analysis, compliance, business process improvement, and audit support. In addition, this position is also responsible for customer service in peak times and special projects.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
  • Considerable knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and Board of Regents policies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business analytics tools and ERP systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Able to work with many query tools to accomplish the reconciliation requirements of this position.

  • Bank accounts
  • Clearing accounts
  • Student Receivables

  • Ad hoc requests that involve writing SQL or PeopleSoft queries
  • Cyclical reporting needed by University System of Georgia, State of Georgia, Federal agencies, etc.
