Position Summary
Responsible for providing assistance to the Head Coach in assigned areas of the intercollegiate Men's Tennis program. This incumbent will assist the head coach in coaching, planning, organizing, directing, recruiting, and implementing all phases of a Division I Men's Tennis program as well as assist in all areas of team performance which includes but is not limited to pre-season, post-season training, practice and competition and academic progress .
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
  • Organize and administer all phases of a NCAA Division I Men's Tennis program.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience recruiting at the Division I level.
  • Comprehend and adhere to NCAA, SEC, and institutional policies and procedures in the sport of men's tennis.
  • Evaluate and compare athletic talent for potential growth and development of student-athletes.
  • Support public relations, fundraising, and promotional activities.
  • Possess good organizational skills in coordinating recruiting travel and visit itineraries.
  • Oversee conditioning programs for the Men's Tennis student-athletes.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but escalates to high during practice and athletic competitions.

  • Assist Head Coach with organizing and administering all phases of a NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Program including but not limited to: training and preparing athletes for competition; overseeing conditioning programs; supervising, and evaluating student-athletes.

  • Evaluating and recruiting qualified student-athletes to the University of Georgia whose athletic and personal skills make them highly competitive in the SEC and nationally, and whose academic potential makes them good candidates for a meaningful academic experience and graduation at the University of Georgia; coordinating recruiting travel and visit itineraries.

  • Assist with administration as it relates to recruiting, budgets, traveling, public relations, fund-raising, and camps and clinics.

  • Assist in the planning and designing of a yearly tennis training program; assisting in the planning and designing of specific strength and conditioning sessions for student-athletes in cooperation with the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach and Head Tennis Coach.
