Position Summary: The Associate Director of Planned Giving Marketing and Stewardship position offers an opportunity to join a growing planned giving program that is moving into a comprehensive fundraising campaign and provides a pathway for professional development. Reporting to the Director of Development and Team Lead for Planned Giving, this position is responsible for the marketing and stewardship outreach of planned giving program for University Advancement. This includes: a) engaging individual planned giving donors, which will require travel approximately 25% of the time, primarily in the Dayton/Cincinnati/Columbus metro areas; b) collaborating with marketing staff to further develop and manage an existing multi-channel marketing strategy for a more robust marking effort; c) expanding an existing stewardship strategy; d) collaborating with donor relations team to ensure standard and custom stewardship touches are developed for all planned giving donors; e) maintaining accurate archives of donor records and communications as it pertains to stewardship; f) participating in the University of Dayton community life to encourage gifts to UD through Giving Day, Reunion efforts, Golden Flyer involvement, volunteer committees and Advancement events. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree.

Five years of related experience, such as fundraising, sales, planned gift administration, or marketing.

Basic knowledge of planned/deferred giving vehicles such as wills, life income plans, gifts of unusual assets, beneficiary designations.

Proven customer service and relationship building experience.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities.

A valid drivers license, low risk driving record and insurability by the University.

Preferred Qualifications: While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Six or more years fundraising experience or related field.

Advanced knowledge of and experience with more complex planned/deferred giving vehicles, including estate and income taxes, trust law, investments, and gift planning techniques. Experience in targeted marketing to individuals and promoting gift opportunities through print and digital media.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Raiser's Edge database (or equivalents) and Crescendo gift planning software (or equivalents).

Successful experience in working with people from diverse backgrounds.

Residency in southwest Ohio.

Special Instructions to Applicants: A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. This position provides nurturing care and appropriate learning experiences within a team-teaching setting. This position is part-time, less than 1000 hours per year, and on call as needed.
