The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Connecticut is seeking an academically oriented pathologist interested in general surgical pathology and cytopathology, for an appointment at the rank of assistant professor.Â

Our facility receives over 11,000 surgical pathology cases, 8,000 cytopathology cases (gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology), and 20-25 autopsies annually. Clinical duties include sign-out responsibilities in surgical and autopsy pathology, intraoperative consultations, and Cytopathology, including participation in rapid on-site evaluations.

The successful candidate should enthusiastically participate in a broad range of medical education activities, including but not limited to teaching medical students, training clinical residents and fellows, and partake in continuing medical education programs for personal and professional development. The candidate is expected to actively participate in clinical and basic research projects. The applicant must qualify for a faculty appointment at the School of Medicine of the University of Connecticut.Â
Job requirements: Board Certified in Anatomic pathology · Board Certified or eligibility in Cytopathology · C.T. State Medical License or eligibilityÂ
