At UConn Health, this class is accountable for independently providing administrative management and/or advanced technical program support for the Department of General Medicine, faculty, and Fellows.Â
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Â
OFFICE MANAGEMENT: Manages and coordinates program logistics and administrative support for the Internal Medicine Residency program. Assist the Program Director with overall coordination of the 12 fellowship programs within the Department of Medicine. Collects information on research projects and matches Internal Medicine residents to programs at Hartford Hospital, St. Francis, VA and UCHC. Alternate coordinator for Internal Medicine Residency rotation schedule which consists of approximately 130 residents rotating thru 4 sites. Assist Program Director with administrative matters pertaining to the Department of Medicine Internal Medicine residency program.

INTERPERSONAL: Resolves administrative and logistical problems and transactions collaborating with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), Residency Review Committee (RRC), American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and Graduate Medical Education (GME); Lead coordinator for 12 fellowship programs within the Department of Medicine; acts for and regularly makes decisions in the managers absence within prescribed limits of authority; represents the Program Director to other university offices, the public or outside agencies in matters of administrative consequence.

FISCAL: Daily oversight of budgetary issues relating to the Internal Medicine Residency budget to include contracts, book allowances, travel, and reimbursements. Contract maintenance and payments to various sites such as Hartford Hospital, St. Francis, and The Hospital of Central Connecticut. Manages grants affiliated with the Program Director and Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency. Drafts budgets, which usually involve external funding; manages approved budget making decisions related to the appropriateness of requested expenditures; prepares budget summaries and long-range budget projections; arranges for international fiscal transactions as required;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
Knowledge of applicable program rules and regulations
Knowledge of business math
Considerable knowledge of proper grammar, punctuation and spelling
Considerable knowledge of business communications
Knowledge of medical/technical terminology
Considerable knowledge of office procedures
Oral and written communications skills

Data management skills
Ability to schedule and prioritize work
Some supervisory ability

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
General Experience:
Six (6) years of administrative experience in a higher educational setting including experience working with a residency or fellowship program.
Â
Substitutions Allowed:
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of relevant experience (as defined above) may be substituted to the general experienceÂ
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with MyEvaluations.com and Amion software
Â
SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; 30-minute unpaid meal break.
