The Office of Victim Assistance (OVA) provides trauma-informed victim advocacy and short-term counseling to university students, staff and faculty who are impacted by disruptive and disturbing life events, typically crime and policy violation related. This includes but is not limited to, experiences of sexual assault, intimate partner abuse, harassment, stalking, disasters, mass violence, hazing, physical assault, discrimination, bias, and other types of experiences. The Post-Masters Advocate Counselor Fellow will work with the OVA team to provide free and confidential short-term counseling, advocacy, support and information to members of the university community. This position also involves presenting about our response services and topic areas as well as our “Supporting Survivors” presentation.
We are seeking candidates who have completed a master’s degree in counseling or social work, have acquired an LPCC or LSW license, and need supervised clinical experience to acquire full licensure. Training for fellows includes regular seminars on specific mental health topics, weekly case consultation and weekly supervision with a licensed clinician. Fellows will attend OVA staff meetings and trainings.
OVA works towards a safer, more socially just, and supportive campus community by providing culturally relevant trauma response and prevention services. OVA is in the division of Health and Wellness Services.

The starting salary for this position is $42,000, with an increase to $50,000 in the second year of the fellowship.
