Duties and Responsibilities:
Fully support and assist in the execution of the ESU’s Mission
Create and curate engaging content through effective utilization of the ESU and UBC’s social media platforms to highlight students, events, services, partners, organizations, etc.
Plan and staff engaging marketing tables to promote upcoming events and services the Union offers
Contribute and execute marketing ESU and UBC’s signature events such as The Union Experience, Union Birthday Bash, Holiday Market and Bowling with The Bests
Collaborate with student organizations, Union partners, other offices and/or academic departments to enhance the social media experiences and encourage people to come to the ESU and UBC
Analyze and report ongoing market research to understand the needs, perceptions, preferences, and satisfaction levels with particular segments of the ESU
Create content about students, staff and alumni within assigned area
Develop and edit stories, press releases and other web content according to style and policy
guidelines
Generate innovative ideas and concepts to keep content fresh, engaging, and relevant to the ESU’s audience
Review and update display cases in the Elliott Student Union
Work cooperatively and seamlessly with other staff members to provide quality customer service
Education & Formal Training High school diploma or equivalent Computer Skills Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation Experience
Preferred Skills:
Attention to detail
Communication skills, including oral, written, and/or nonverbal
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines
Solid understanding of the different social networks – specifically Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
Efficiency at Google Suite
Knowledge of a University environment
Photography and Video Production
